Journal #41: Swiss Gun Control

Journal #41: Do you agree or disagree with the basic thesis of this video? Why or why not? Do you think a similar philosopjy/practice would work in the US?

  1. i dont think that american citizens, as well as people in general, should be freely trusted with guns. atleast not where we live, which is more of an urban setting than a rural setting.

  4. michael i think it's a typo... #49 should be 40 i believe?

Also, I agree with Liz. Many people in America already have guns and have proven they aren't responsible enough to own one. It's kind of like owning a dog... you need to be responsible and train your dog not to attack people.
That's kind of a stupid example, but it's pretty much what came to mind when I saw this video.

  5. That was a typo. It's supposed to be 40 everyone.
And I also believe maybe is Swiss land it works but in America, people get carried away. Some will twist the words "free country" so that they think its ok to shoot people. And I don't trust most of the kids in Oak w/ anything what would make me trust our country to be reasonable w/ guns?

  6. I think Americans should be able to own a gun. Criminals can get a gun, but when the average citizen is denied access to a gun this leaves everyday people vulnerable and criminals with all the power.
