Obama & Peace

Resources for Obama Nobel can be found anywhere. The stuff we use in class is from NPR News (http://www.npr.org/).

  1. Like I said in class, it's too early to give him the award. He hasn't done much so far as president. If he does what he says he's going to do with the international relations, give him the award as he is about to leave office

  2. I agree with what costal said in class that this isn"t so much about Barak Obama as it is about George BUsh. Everyone in the world was tired of him and wanted change. IF John McCain were to have become president we would be sitting here with the same situation. There is no way Obama has had time to win the nobel peace prize. All he has had is good intentions. But then maybee it just goes to people with good intentions like ed said in class.

  3. This makes me angry. Good intentions mean nothing, he hasn't done what he received the award for. It's a disgrace on whoever picks out the winner for the Nobel Peace Prize.

  4. JOKE!!! For real! He did absolutely nothing to deserve this other than talk. He can talk the talk but when it comes time to walk he can't!! If I talked about achieving peace and blah blah blah, I wouldn't be sitting there with the Nobel Peace Prize. Also, It wouldn't be the same situation with McCain because he wouldv'e handeled these situations differently. The only reason why he got this award is because America didn't get the Olympics.

  5. OK, Furg...I can accept that he has only talked as of yet (I heard something funny on NPR this weekend, an announcer said, "President Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize, for, ya know, being a really nice guy"), but what possible evidence exists to further that he has not "walked the walk?" And YOU, my dear Furg, are not President...that's one minor difference between you and Barack : )

  6. Mr. C, you are trying to shoot down the fact that B.O. (Obama) has done nothing to hold "peace" by telling Mary that she is not pres which is why she wouldn't get it. You also bring up another argument. Is Obama getting the prize BECAUSE he is president? Has he DONE ANYTHING? This is just another publicity stunt to bring his reputation back up to it's peak. There is a reason he is losing popularity and it should stay that way. With his popularity dropping, politicians will stop voting on his plans(Senate financial committee) just because he is popular and they will start voting on his plans because they will do good instead.
